Term 4 Training has started with a BANG!

Congratulations boys. It never ceases to amaze me when I see so many swimmers turn up to the TC pool. To have nearly 30 boys attend this morning’s training, absolutely blew the coaches away. Considering that this time last year, we were heading out to Belmont, I couldn’t be happier.

Now, imagine how many team members we can get to training when breakfast starts on Friday. Hot, delicious, TC swim breakfast that make getting out of bed so worth it!!

On that note, the sign up details for breakfast will be shared later this week, but I really want to focus on something more important, the people behind the breakfast tradition.

Every week, a team of dedicated parents volunteer their time to plan, order, prepare, and serve breakfast for the swimmers. Many of these mums and dads have been doing it for over a decade, supporting their older kids and now their younger ones as they move through the swim team.

The reality is that several of our most experienced parent volunteers will finish their time at Trinity after the Term 1, 2026 season. That means it will soon fall to the parents of Grad Year 2027 and beyond to carry this much-loved tradition forward.

The breakfast tradition isn’t just about food, it’s a huge part of what drives our success. When breakfast is on, attendance skyrockets, and with more boys in the water, our coaches can focus on what they do best, improving race performance.

This term, we especially need new parent volunteers to step up and help with breakfast duty. It’s a simple but meaningful way to support the team and keep one of Trinity’s great and clearly most beloved swim traditions alive. Experience banked between now and March will really help Rondelle and her team feel comfortable with the succession to new custodians.

As for the business in the pool, we’ve already set a Day 1 Term 4 record, let’s build on that, on Friday.
