Congratulations Callum!!!

Congratulations to Callum Lauriston (9.4) who competed in the Australian National Open Water over the 15-16 February weekend. On Saturday, Callum competed in the 10km open water swim and won Bronze in his age group. On Sunday, Callum competed in the 5km open water and won Silver. Well done!!

SCHOOLS AND COLLEGES RELAYS 2014

The Schools and Colleges Relays will be held this Sunday at Challenge Stadium. There are two competitions, Middle School (8.00am warm up) and Senior School (11.00am warm up). Please check YOUR team for the details.
We will be publishing a full list of events and team orders on Thursday, so please look out then.

Breakfast Roster

Hi Parents,

Thankyou for going on roster – I have filled all the days and hopefully there will be no changes. Please have a look if you have been given any extras or changes, my apologies as some parents have had last minute committments come up and were not able to do their rostered days. If you are not on roster and are itching to help, please pass by the Gibney Hall kitchen as we can always use the extra help as sometimes, unexpectedly, our parents may have to leave early.

Thanks again for supporting our boys and helping prepare breakfast for them – I know they truly do appreciate it.

80 swimmers!

Hi Parents,

Well, what a morning we had this morning. It was touch and go with getting breakfast ready for over 80 swimmers this morning!! Yes, record numbers. Coaches are extremely happy with the turnout at training and numbers at breakfast are on a steady increase. I personally would like to thank the wonderful parents I had on this morning we were able to cope with the extra mouths to feed that we did not know about. Thank you to Mr Clare, Mr Lee, Mrs Starkie, Mrs Reaper, Mrs Mangan and Candy and her beautiful daughter(sorry I have forgotten your surname).

Whilst we need a minimum of four parents on, with numbers like this, we could always use the extra pair of hands preparing, serving and cleaning up after – so if you are in the vicinity of the Gibney Hall kitchen, come up and say hi – it is a great way of meeting other parents too.

Thank you to all the parent helpers we have had thus far. It has been greatly appreciated. I hope your son is enjoying the breakfast and if you have any concerns or queries, please do not hesitate in contacting me on melidnang8@gmail.com or 0407989455.

Breakfast Roster

Hello Parents,Thank you to those parents who have indicated they can help. I have done a roster for the next 5 weeks. Please note your day and meet the other parents at the Gibney Hall kitchen at 6.30am.

Thank you again for giving up some of your valuable time to cook breakfast for the boys. If you are able to help and not on the roster, please let me know when you can come or if you are rostered and not able to do that shift, please let me know ASAP so we can find a replacement.

WOW….we had our first breakfast yesterday morning of bacon & egg sandwiches, hash browns & juice. There were 70 swimmers BUT approximately 50 swimmers turned up for breakfast. So please remind your sons if they swim they are able to have breakfast.

Now for the business end of things –

Breakfast can’t happen without parent volunteers and based on these numbers we need atleast 3 parent helpers each Monday, Wednesday & Friday morning from 6.45 to 8.15 or however long you can stay. So, please email or sms me ASAP so I can get a roster by the end of this week.

Breakfast is $3.00 per session and if your son is going to attend each session then total amount required for this term is$70.00. This will also cover the snack bag the boys are provided at the interschool carnival. To make things easier at the breakfast, preference is they pay in a lump sum by putting monies in an envelope with their name, PCG and an email address and I can advise you I have received the monies or alternatively, sms or email me and I can send you my bank account details. Any monies not used by your child will be returned to you.

You can also elect to make lump sum payments, again in an envelope with your son’s name and PCG.

A big thank you to dad’s Mr Moffatt, Mr Fare & Mr Lee and mum’s Mrs Salvia, Mrs Starkie & Mrs Reaper for helping this morning, it was greatly appreciated.

This Friday Mrs Braut, Mrs Salvia, Mrs Reaper & Mr Lee have offered their assistance. Thank you very much.

Also, if your son has a dietary requirement, please let me know so we can cater for it as the breakfast is a great team bonding experience for all the boys and we don’t want any of them to miss out. This morning seeing 50 boys sitting under the shade clothes eating their breakfast was a real heart warmer.
