Attention all Swimmers

Attention all swimmers. To avoid confusion and in response to some feedback, the training times will change slightly until the end of Term 4.

Please adhere to the following new training times:

6.15 Arrive at TC

6.20 Group stretch/warm up on Centenary Park

6.30 Dive into the pool.

The reason we originally changed to 6.00 (now 6.15) is that we were finding that many swimmers were arriving well after 6.30, which makes life very difficult for coaches. It cannot be helped if you are unavoidably delayed, but those making a habit of being late are seriously undermining the effectiveness of training for others in the team. So the most important part of training for Term 4 is BE IN THE WATER BY 6.30!!!

Hi swimmers and parents,
What a fantastic turn out we had yesterday morning, another 30+ hungry boys were fed. Thank you to Mr Poeira, Mrs Salvia, Mrs Reaper and Mr Pizzuto.
Thank you to the parents who have volunteered to help but unfortunately we need plenty more and if we do not get enough parents we will have to cancel breakfast. It’s a lot of fun and watching the boys come and get breakky after a hard training session is such a joy, so please consider volunteering for one or two days.
The main time we need parent help is from 6.00 – 7.30 but happy if you can help for only an hour or so.
So far we only have a couple helping out next week. We need at least 2 parents each Monday and Friday morning. Please contact Mel on melindang8@gmail.com or 0407 989 455 by Thursday this week if you can help with atleast one breakfast otherwise this Friday will be the last one.
Thanking you for your continual support of our swim team.

Fabulous Start

Hi Swimmers and parents,

What a fabulous start to swimming. We fed 30+ hungry boys this morning. They enjoyed ham & cheese croissants, hash browns, scrambled eggs and juice.

Thank you to Mrs Salvia, Mrs Starkie, Mrs Reaper and Brandon Till’s nan for helping this morning.

Next Monday Mrs Salvia & Mrs Starkie have kindly offered to help out and Friday next week Mr Soares has offered but we need plenty more parent helpers to feed our hungry boys.

If you are able to assist with a breakfast on either Monday or Friday morning, please email Mel Ng on melindang8@gmail.com or message her on 0407 989 455 and let her know when you are available.

Breakfast costs $3.00 and to help with morning congestion, please pre-pay breakfast by placing $42 in an envelope with your son’s name and email address so a confirmation can be sent that monies have been received.

Thank you in advance for your continual support of our TC swim team.

 Cheers

Dear Parents,

Well the 2013/14 swim season has come to a close and what a wonderful night we had at the PSA inters. Our middle school boys held their own against the fierce competition and our seniors displayed great tenancity.

What was most impressive was the way the boys demonstrated great sportsmanship at the end of the night by giving the winning school, Hale, a standing applause. You all should be very proud of our boys, they did us proud.

I was able to catch up with many of you on the night, but those I did not see, please let me know whether you want your breakfast monies credited back to your accounts or to be rolled over for term 4 swim breakfasts (yes, I am already thinking that far ahead)

On a personal note, I would love to thank each and every one of you making 2013/14 swim year easier – from the many volunteers at breakfast to the fantastic food provided at the lunch and the many who helped on the day. Thank you, this could not happen without the parental support we receive.

There are many parents who have helped me over the last two terms but I would like to take this opportunity to single a few out. Thank you to Jo Lauriston & JP Soares for all the help you provided in term 4 2013 with breakfast, Elaine Reaper for being at every breakfast with me in Term 1 2014, Mel Starkie & Robyn Salvia for being on stand by every breakfast morning. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Lastly, a huge thank you to all those parents who came and worked their rostered morning even when there cherub was still at home or couldnt make training…thank you for your dedication.

Have a wonderful rest and enjoy our winter PSA sports and I will be in touch towards the end of Term 3.

To our wonderful coaches, Siobhan, Liam, Jamie, Finlay and of course Mr Mepham, thank you from the boys and the parents for the committment and time you give to the TC Swim team.

Cheers,
Mel

Last Call for Breakfast $

Hello parents,

We still have quite a few boys who have not paid their $5 for the snack pack for Thursday inters. Wednesday’s training will be the last opportunity to get that money in. Please pass monies to Mel Ng at breakfast. You can find her in Gibney Hall or contact her on 0407989455 to discuss.

Thank you
