TC Swimming Breaks Records

Congratulations boys!!

IMG_0782
You have broken the ALL TIME attendance record for holiday swimming.
This shows that the enthusiasm for swimming is building.
There are still many of you who have not been sighted at training, please attend as many sessions as you can.
THERE ARE ONLY 17 TRAINING SESSIONS UNTIL INTERS.
Please check the swimming calendar closely. We have our first meet on Saturday Feb 7th against Wesley at Wesley. It’s a brief 6pm warm-up with racing at 6.15. The meet should be finished by 7.30.
All swimmers are expected to attend.

Year 7 Parents

Dear Trinity Year 7 Parents
Attached is a letter for your son regarding his selection in the Trinity Swim Squad for 2015. These selections are made off the back of the trials in November 2014.
Holiday training is a strong tradition at Trinity and the boys who attend absolutely love it.
Your son may be very excited, or very daunted at the prospect of joining the swim team. Either way, we strongly encourage him to join in over the holidays as we know he will ultimately enjoy the experience.
Many boys selected have never represented their school in swimming before as many primary schools (including Trinity junior School) have very small swim teams. We require 24 swimmers from each year group to make up a team, so the chances of representing Trinity are quite high.
Please help him to understand the implications of his selection and encourage him to log onto the website provided in the letter for further updates.
I look forward to seeing you/him on Friday at 6.30am.
Regards
Dion Mepham

SWIMMING 2015

Hi everybody and welcome to our 2015 TC Swim Season.

It’s a very hectic one and it kicks off again on Monday Jan 5th.

Training is as normal; Mon, Wed and Fri 6.30-7.45am. EXCEPT for Friday Jan 9th (Swim Camp)

There are a couple of important notes before we see you on Monday.

1)      The pool deck has been re-surfaced, but there are a few slippery patches that need attending to-so please, be VERY careful when moving around pool deck.

2)      Swim Camp is as per the previous posts, Fri and Sat (9th & 10th). We want everyone to attend if available. It is now no longer a residential camp and will finish at 4.00pm Friday afternoon before re-commencing on Saturday.

3)      Our Year 12’s have been working very hard to produce a swim season worthy of the great TC teams. Please give your all this year.

4)      Our new Year 7’s will be joining us on Mon 12th, however a few former TC Junior School boys will be training from the 5th. Please make them welcome.

Let’s have a great year.

Swim Camp & Training

Thank you everybody for a great year of swimming. A few notes to end the year-

1)      Congratulations to those who attended the Dive and Try meet on Nov 29th. Many TC swimmers took the opportunity to get some new season times on the board.

2)      Swim Camp- the swim camp has been modified. It will still go ahead, but we were unable to gain the numbers required to run the full camp schedule. As a result, the camp will now be a non-residential camp. Fri Jan 9th (8am-5pm) and Sat Jan 10th (9am-12pm). The cost will be $25, essentially for morning teas, lunch and afternoon tea and a few activities. $25 refunds will be distributed to those who paid the full $50. More swimmers may be now able to attend (see previous posts for details).

3)      Holiday Training will re-commence on Mon Jan 5th at 6.30am. The pool deck is being re-surfaced and is due to be finished on Jan 3rd. We expect the repairs to be finished on time, but please watch for updates, closer to the date.

4)      Have a very enjoyable holiday and we all look forward to seeing you refreshed and eager in January.

We had a great afternoon with elite members of the Australian Swim Team showing our boys some excellent swim techniques & skills.  Everyone was fantastic & our swimmers really got  a lot out of this great experience… they even picked up some signed posters & free towels 🙂

The athletes in attendance were:

  1. Emma McKeon
  2. Emily Seebohm
  3. Tommy Fraser-Holmes.

A big thank you to Mr Ian Brown & his team for organizing this great event here at Trinity College.
