TC Top 100

Top 100 Cloud Bloggers 468

Congratulations to those who have made the top 100-and to those who’ve swum under 30 so far. I hope that we can hit that magical 60 number tomorrow night.
Facts-
1) Yr 9’s are represented more than any other age group.
2) We have 1 swimmer @25 sec, 4@26sec, 14@27sec, 15@28sec 22@29sec and 10@30sec. Imagine how we’d do if we all make a jump into the next second bracket. 187pts better is how we’d go.
3) Based on these times 55 swimmers at TC would qualify to swim at state championships and 4 for national championships. So see me if you want to join a club!!
4) Strong legs = improved times. Improved times=more wins. More wins=more points. More points=TC domination. Therefore strong legs= TC domination.

All swimmers and reserves are going to be presented to the College at the College Assembly on Tuesday morning during period 2.

All boys involved should meet Mr Leahy in Centenary Park  at 9.15am on Tuesday morning.  Your period 1 teacher is aware that you need to leave that class early.

PSA Inters 2015

The PSA team for 2015 is finalised. Please be aware that I have worked very hard to maximise our points haul on the night. Every swim has been calculated to give us maximum advantage.

It has not been an easy process! Many of you will find that you are in swims that you didn’t expect to be in. Quite a few are in only one swim, when you may have expected more. Others have unfortunately, missed out altogether. I may have made an error, so please come and question me if you are unsure why you are where you are, or you have been left out. I will be happy to discuss any selection. Also I can give you advice on where you can improve for next year.

As a team gets better, naturally you need to be faster to get in. I am so pleased to see that we managed to make it to 56 swimmers under 30 (2014 we had 37). I’d love to see that number jump to 80 next year. However, there is plenty of improvement to make as there are only 5 swimmers under 27, next year I’d expect that to rise to 30.

To the reserves and the boys who have been to training and missed out; firstly, I’m sorry that you worked so hard and found that you fell ever so slightly short. I hope that you will join us for the full preparation and on the night. Also that you feel inspired to rise higher next year. Secondly if you were part of the training squad but are not a reserve, unfortunately we can’t accommodate you on the bus and in the team area, please join us on Thursday lunch to thank you for your contribution. You can see Mr Norman for tickets to the Inters if you would like to come along and absorb the atmosphere.

If you can’t swim due to illness or injury, or you require special circumstances (late arrival etc) please email me BEFORE Tuesday, as I need time to inform others of their swim. Of course illness on the day needs to be communicated to me as quickly as possible. mepham.dion@trinity.wa.edu.au or text 0411166538. I may not reply, but I will at least be informed.

Team rules-

1) Unlike the Quads, there is an expectation that we stay together as a team from 12.40 until the final points are announced at 8.45. Under no circumstance will a swimmer be allowed to go home early unless a very good reason is communicated in writing and approved prior to Thursday.

2) There will also be no lollies, hot chips etc allowed in the team area on Thursday night. An afternoon tea will be provided, but you may wish to bring some extra healthy snacks if your event is later.

3) The uniform is compulsory. The clothing shop is open on Tuesday and there is no excuse for not having TRINITY bathers, swim team shirt and TRINITY cap. We will be disqualified if swimmers are not correctly attired.

4) Behaviour- you are representing Trinity at all times. When the bus stops so does the chanting. When you chant other schools, be witty, loud, but clean.  When you are leaving the venue, you are polite and sportsmanlike to the other schools.

On Thursday, I fully expect that there will be about 30-50 points between 2nd and 6th. One disqualification means a 27 point turn around, so the event will be very exciting. We could  put in an awesome performance and drop a position from last year, or we could rise high. Whatever the scoreboard says, at any point of the night, we can not drop our guard, as I expect it to come down to the last race.

I hope that’s everything. Fight hard at the finish to turn a 5th into a 4th, execute your skills properly and concentrate on the process of swimming fast and we will make every race count towards our goal.

QUADS 2015

IMG_0662

A fantastic effort last night from the TC team made sure that 2015 is already one of the most successful campaigns in Trinity history. Trinity has never before achieved a place higher than 3rd at the Quads, so to made it into 2nd place made 2015 our highest ever finish.

Well Done!
