Upcoming Events

We’ve had a great week of improvement at PCG carnivals and the Perth College Valentine swim meet. I hope you are all excited about Sunday’s Relay event. It’s an important opportunity to race at HBF Stadium and we expect that you will swim really fast.

I have a couple of important pieces of information to pass on regarding the upcoming week.

1) Relay Carnival

Please remember that the carnival is Sunday and that you are required at differing times.

Year 7-9              Arrive at 10.30am

Year 10-12         Arrive at 1.15pm.

This will allow you 15min to get ready before warm ups start.

Siobhan will be in charge of all swimming related matters, as I will be running the carnival.

You will swim 1 x50m time-trial and 2 relays.

The 50m time trial is to be in a stroke of your choice, unless Siobhan tells you otherwise (some will need to gain a non-freestyle time for team selection purposes).

Relay teams will be picked and assembled based on the personnel that present on the day. It can be a bit hectic and boys have been inadvertently left out of a team in the past. Let me be clear, it is your responsibility to ensure that you know which team you are swimming in. If you are still unclear after the announcement of teams (on pool-deck), then badger Siobhan until she tells you a definitive position, eg ‘3rd swimmer in the D Free relay’. It is important that you get a swim.

Please make sure that you do not change order or teams without consultation. The results we receive have no names, so the only way you will know your time for sure is if you swim in the order and team you are given.

Uniform is as close to TC swim uniform as you can get, PE uniform is fine. TC bathers and caps are preferred team apparel.

2) Mercedes College Training

Mercedes Coll

Red Cat

Year 7 and 8 will be training at Mercedes College on Monday.

Year 9-12 will be at TC with Siobhan, Mercedes Head Coach Courtney and our TC coaches.

At Mercedes we aim to be in the water at 6.30am. Mr. Mepham will be at Mercedes to co-ordinate training and bring boys back on the Red Cat (10min journey, running every 5min) in time for TC breakfast at 7.50. Please see above for maps on how to get to Mercedes and the Red Cat route we will take back to TC.

On Friday the groups will be reversed.

Cheers

Mr.Mepham

Swimming breakfast

A few notices regarding swimming and breakfast;

There will be training this Friday morning 17th February, however it is a pupil free day at the College so unfortunately, no breakfast!

Thank you to all the volunteer parents who give up their time to feed our hungry swimmers in the morning, they really do appreciate the fantastic job you do. We need a few more volunteers on Wednesday mornings as numbers are a bit light on, if you have a spare morning and you don’t mind helping, please use the link below to register on Sign Up Genius.

Could we ask all parents to use the online store to order breakfast for your son, unfortunately the volunteers can’t take cash in the morning as there are no facilities to record payment.

The cost is $52 for the Term 1 Swimming Season or you can opt to pay $4.00 through the online store, for each day your son swims. Just select a single breakfast for $4 and click + to add additional mornings/breakfasts.

Trinity vs Perth College Valentines Swim Meet

Congratulations today boys, your behaviour was exemplary and you made us proud to be associated with you.

Impressively, between Yr 7 PCG (14) and PC (26)- we achieved 40 pbs in 50 Free alone.

Congratulations to Tom Tranter (8) and James Watson (7) who both went under 30 for the first time in the last couple of days.

Great job.

Just a quick heads up- Tomorrow, all boys who swam today will be named in Sunday’s relay carnival. See you then.
