Time Trial Meet- Tuesday, March 5th.

We have been invited by Penrhos to join them at HBF Stadium next Tuesday night 6.30-8.30pm for some time trial racing. The swims will be 50m of each stroke and electronically timed.
For TC purposes, we will not make this meet compulsory, but would be really pleased if you could come along.
Times will be valid for Inters selection.
Maybe club/state swimmers can rest from this one, but swimmers who missed Quads due to camp, should try to make it. Anyone else is, of course, welcome. Your own transport is required and Penrhos have offered to pay entry to the stadium.
Penrhos would like an indication from us as to who may attend, so we’ve created a sign-up sheet. Just enter your name.

2019 Quadrangular Results

Again, congratulations to all those who swam a PB on the night. Your times are listed in the following;
Quads Wrap-up!

A big thank you to everyone for your patience and persistence last night in some very trying circumstances.
A special thank you to those boys who stepped aside from relays to allow ALL of the Div 3 swimmers to get a chance to swim. Obviously, we were disappointed (along with Wesley) to be on the receiving end of a challenging (and I might say ridiculous) rule change that prevented boys who were ready and willing to swim, from competing.
I was really proud of our sportsmanship and our composure in the face of adversity. With that said, I must also commend the boys on their behaviour. It is an understatement to say that the coaches were ‘distracted’ but the boys didn’t complain once, nor did anyone make a fuss and even though the end result looked dire on the face of it, we still managed to walk away with many positives.
Congratulations to Brendan Best and Harry Farmer on achieving Quads record times. There were many pb’s achieved on the night and the Top 100 now reflects them.
We didn’t win any relays and that’s no bother to the coaching staff. Given that in nearly all relays, we had to make drastic changes, we were unlikely to come away with many points. However, in each relay, we were surprised and pleased with boys who popped up and swam pb’s.
As far as the Quads being a yardstick to Inters, I wouldn’t be too concerned. We always use Quads as a chance for the team to get together, understand team processes and practice skills. Performance is always a very small part of our equation. In fact, in TC’s history, we’ve never won the Quads.
Our focus now turns to the Inters on March 14th. A team will come out as soon as possible, next week and we’ll start the preparation phase to what we believe will be a very exciting event. KEEP THE FAITH & DO NOT LOSE SIGHT OF THE MAIN GOAL!!!

In some age groups, we will be fielding ‘Freestyle Div 3’ team in the Div 2 event. All swimmers listed will swim but may find that they move on the night.
Please note that the Quads event is a practice, therefore you may not be selected in your strongest event, but selected for another. We are trying to juggle swimmers to find the best fit for Inters.
