Swimming breakfast payments

breakfast_baconeggroll

Swim Team training starts Friday the 18th of October for all swimmers years 7 – 11.  Breakfast will be served to all our hungry swimmers at 8am Monday and Friday mornings after training.

Unfortunately, the volunteers can’t take cash as there are no facilities to record the payment. The breakfast cost is only $4 for a bacon & egg burger, hash browns, and a drink – Great value we think!

Please click on the online store below to pay for your son’s breakfast.

2019 Term 4 Swim Breakfast Volunteers

we-need-you

Swimming starts  Week 1 Term 4 Friday 18th October and concludes Week 7 Friday 29th November.

The breakfast can’t happen without volunteers, so we need parent helpers;

Monday: 6:30 – 8:00am

Friday: 6:30 – 8:00am

We need at least three (3) parent helpers each morning to make breakfast happen. We would love to see some fresh faces in the kitchen this term, especially from the middle school parents. It’s a wonderful way to meet fellow Swim Team parents and to build that TC community spirit.

If you have thought of volunteering but haven’t put your name down yet, please click on the link below to sign up.

Term 3 swim squad enrolment now open.

Swim School

Remember how hard it is to start swimming again at the beginning of summer. Now’s your chance to change that.

Winter sport will be over by mid-term and you’ll be wanting to swim again. Enrol now, get a few swims under your belt early in the term while you are busy, then when sport ends, pick it up a bit. Result- Awesome fitness and a ripped rig for summer.

There are also a couple of events that you might like to think about, to help motivation- 1) National Swim Championships are in Perth April 2020. 2) Pool Lifesaving State Titles Jan 2020 (we want to enter a TC team for the first time) 3) SA State titles (we will be sending a team) and 4) one eye on the World Schools Swim Champs in France (potential for swimmers to attend).

And of course, Inters 2020!

To enrol in swim squads (Yr 4-7);

  1. Please enroll by clicking here

Mr Mepham

The summer season is over, what now?

Swim School

We are very keen for the TC team to have a short break after a long and successful season, however, we believe that winter swimming is an essential part of our future improvement, so we encourage you to get back into the pool again in, some capacity in Term 2.

Statistics will show that we can double the rate of improvement by returning to the next summer season fit and firing after remaining engaged with the water over winter.

So what can we offer you in Term 2? Firstly, we are sorry that we can’t offer free training or breakfasts. We do, however, provide excellent winter squad training ‘on home soil’ at the TC pool. You can get your training done at a local swim club, but we’d prefer that you trained with us, here at TC. We have a plan for each of you.

Here at TC (through Perth Swim), we have 4 squads available-

Bronze-Junior Development (Yr 4,5,6) Any 2 of -Monday-Thursday 3.30-4.30pm and 4.30-5.30pm

Silver- Junior Competitive (Yr 5,6,7,8) Any 3 of-Monday-Thursday 3.30-4.45pm and 4.45-6.00pm

Gold- Intermediate Competitive  (Yr 7-12) Any 3 of-Monday-Thursday 3.30-5.00pm and 5.00-6.30pm

Age Group Competitive (Yr 8-12) Any of-Monday-Thursday 4.30-6.30pm, Mon, Wed, Fri 5,30-7.30am, Sat 6.00-7.30am

All squads are;

  • reasonable priced (mostly by the month or term),
  • allow you 50% off Western Sprint membership for the winter (1st-time comp members only)
  • ‘one-stop’ before & after school training, meaning no morning & afternoon transport hassles.
  • attract NO POOL ENTRY FEE for TC students.

For those of you who’ve joined community squads, you’ll understand that is a pretty special arrangement.

We are aiming to make competitive swimming affordable and accessible to TC families. We’re trying very hard to offer as many alternatives as possible, recognising that TC is a very busy place and many families want to swim.

Yes, siblings and friends can come and join. It is likely that you will even have the whole family swimming at the same time (bonus).

In order to enroll visit us at Perth Swim  ( https://perth-swim.myshopify.com/ )

Scroll down to ‘Enrol for swimming” Enrol in the squad, and then click on the payment link in the sign-up instruction box. You can also just click the above link to pay, once enrolled.

To enroll in Age Group Competitive, Senior Squads and Elite Squads please email me at SwimSchool@trinity.wa.edu.au

Let’s swim for TC 2020.

Inters it’s a wrap!

ToPublish_IMG_8199

Congratulations to everyone who swam on Thursday night.

I know the analysis is a little late, but there was a lot to get through.

I thought the point-score was reflective of the talent in our team and I am very excited about the future. This is now 6 consecutive years inside the top 3! What an effort.

The PB rate for the TC team on Inters night was 73%. This means that 106 of our 146 individual swims or relay legs were PB’s. When you consider that 33-50% is considered a solid nights work, we made an excellent improvement.

The biggest PB on the night went to Jack Tanner who smashed 2.5 sec off his best 50m Freestyle. Well done Jack.

The largest point scorer was Harry Farmer with 80 points (including a record). Great effort.

Trinity-Swim-Report-2019-with-pbs

Mr. Gage has thanked parents on our behalf, but I’d like to add my thanks again for your unending positivity and eager support given to the team.

A huge thank you again to Mr. Gage, Siobhan, Sam, Michael, and Ethan. Their tireless work on the night brought calm & stability to the team.

Finally, my thanks go to the Yr 12’s who leave us in a very strong position. It is incredibly difficult to lead a team towards cultural change. I’m most proud of the 2019 group, as they achieved many of the outcomes set by them and affected positive change on the group (and still managed a 75% PB rate at Inters). Congratulations boys.

Let’s turn our attention to 2020. We are in a fantastic position to push forward, but also a vulnerable position if we lose sight of our purpose. My sincere hope is that the whole senior team pushes towards IMPROVEMENT as their goal for 2020.

My 2020 Goal –  I’d love to see 30 swimmers under 26sec in the Top 100!! I challenge you all to help me to achieve it.
