Parent Volunteers – Interschool Swimming Lunch

WeNeedYou

As is the long-held tradition at Trinity, the swimmers come together to share lunch on the day of the PSA Interschool Swimming Carnival. This year we are having the lunch catered for and asking a few parents to provide a salad, help set up, serve lunch and then clean up after the boys have finished their meal. Assistance will be required from 10:00am – 2.30 pm. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated and if you are available for all or part of this time, please email me at Rachmawati.Regan@health.wa.gov.au

Penrhos Swim Meet Tuesday 3rd March

Please sign up for the Penrhos meet by using this link https://www.signupgenius.com/go/409094ca8a92ca0ff2-penrhos

This is the final selection event for Inters and we’d love everyone who wants an Inters spot to attend. Details are as follows Tuesday, March 3rd, 2020. HBF Stadium 6.15pm Warm-up 6.45pm Start 8.15pm Conclude.

There is no cost, but we may have to pay pool entry $4.50.

Going through the results from Quads, we really dropped the ball, with our PB rate of 14% is the lowest of any TC meet since 2010 (11%) If we repeat this rate at Inters, we will finish 6th, but a PB rate of 50% or more will have us within 40pts of 1st. Our PB rate in 2019 was a whopping 70%.

FACT- Every year that the TC PB’s rate has been under 40%, we have placed in the bottom half of the meet. Every year it has been above 40% we have placed the top 3.

We are not held back by our talent or ability. We succeed only as a result of our willingness to improve beyond our present circumstances.

Inters PB rates-

So the focus now is on each and every swimmer working on the PROCESS of SWIMMING FAST. The pathway to PB’s is great skills, not obsessing about PB’s.

That is work on the skills that give you the best chance of producing a fast swim. Focus on the process and the result looks after itself.

A great example is; rather than saying to yourself – ‘My goal is to go under 30 tonight’, instead say ‘I’m going to execute a perfect streamline, then kick my legs off until the finish. This will give me the best chance of getting under 30’

Let’s refocus and aim high.

Great effort at Quads

Well done tonight boys. A great effort in difficult circumstances.

Many of our boys came straight from training or filled in for boys on camp.

The spirit within the squad showed that we will be a force to be reckoned with come inters night.

As usual for Quads, we are committed to giving opportunities to boys who may not get a chance to swim individual events or represent the school. This will always reduce our scoring potential, but we’re prepared for that in the pursuit of our goals.

It will take a few days to receive the official times and collate these into something meaningful, but we will post these as soon as possible.

Please remember;

  1. This is a selection meet. If you are not on the list but think you should be, speak to Siobhan and Mr. Mepham at training Monday.
  2. Everyone selected must attend. This is the first of 2 ‘compulsory’ meets.
  3. Year 7 camp will mean there are year 7’s and year 11’s who can not swim at this event.
  4. You may be selected for an out of age swim so look closely for your name.
  5. If you are one of our best swimmers in the age group, you may be left out of one or more events to give others a chance to swim fast, this will not affect your selection for Inters.

If you have any questions about this meet please speak to Sioban and Mr Mepham at training on Monday morning.
