Great effort at Quads!
Great swimming last night everyone.
Quads is always a very difficult one to manage, as many people are on camp, injured, at sport training etc, so the changes are many and often illogical. Thanks for your co-operation and patience. As you know, we have no interest in the overall result, only the performance of the swimmers we ask to do certain jobs on the night.
It was fantastic to see every boy who attended (I hope) get a swim, however, there were a couple of boys left out inadvertently and I apoloigise. Once again, please see us if you feel that something is off in a team selection. Often I will come back to you with a ‘yes that’s correct, I want to check team balance’ or similar, but sometimes we just miss your name in a long list of swimmers and you bringing it to our attention alerts us to our error.
The coaches were very proud of your behaviour, your enthusiasm and your intensity last night and there were 75 MORE pb’s last night than at last year’s Quads.
Please note- It’s important to us that we provide you with timely feedback, but understand that official results aren’t in yet, but this TOP 100 has been taken from the video feed and scoreboard (there may be some changes to times after official results are in).
I urge you ALL to go back to the video stream of your races https://bit.ly/3azgU4h
and learn something from viewing yourself (start, breathing pattern, length of stroke etc) and lets put that process into place for Inters.
Please be aware that Penrhos meet is our last selection event for Inters.
If you lost a mobile phone or pair of shorts at Quads, please see Mr Gage in A114.

2021 Quadrangular Swimming Carnival
Hi All,
With HBF being granted an exemption, it has allowed them to increase their numbers substantially.
The temporary grandstand is permitted 530 this will accommodate all competitors.
The fixed grandstand is permitted 900 people so all spectators will be seated in the permanent stand.
The main issue for us is that any events at HBF are required to be ticketed under the new restrictions.
Therefore Scotch staff will man the two entry points from 5pm tomorrow and will hand each competitor a ticket upon entry.
Spectators can enter via normal entry point and the fee is $2.60 per person. The ticketing for this will be managed by HBF Stadium cashiers.
Please see attached an updated program and seating map
All marshalling will be done at the scoreboard end of the Indoor 8 lane pool.

TC TOP 100
Quads and bathers

Great swimming yesterday everyone. It was impressive to watch those who have worked so hard, start to reap the rewards.
There are a few things that need we need to advise you on in terms of the movements over the next few weeks.
- Quads- Feb 23rd (next Tuesday 5pm)-the team will be picked and posted with Top 100, today (Friday). It is important that you attend this meet (it is compulsory if selected). Details will follow. Please note- those attending Yr 7 camp (including Yr 11’s) from Mon-Wed will NOT be picked for Quads.
As usual, you may notice some ‘unorthodox’ selections. This occurs from time to time so that we can try different combinations and race strategies. If in doubt as to your selection/non-selection please talk to coaches as selection mistakes have been made (once in 1992 & again in 2004).
- Team uniform- you will need to wear a TC cap and TC bathers for all swim meets from now on. Our preference is that you wear the TC ‘Engine’ performance jammers or the team ‘Dolphin’ jammers. Please refrain if possible, from wearing the FINS brand PE jammers. They are a performance liability.
Your boys work hard to improve their times by small amounts during the season, so wearing quality bathers can make a significant difference on race day, however, we understand that cost can be a factor so our advice is given only based on performance value, rather than considering other issues (economic etc).
For those who missed the performance jammer order in November last year, there are 30 pairs available for order from the clothing store, however they should be ordered ASAP in order to swim Quads & Inters in them.
In order to prevent confusion I have listed our preferred options;
1st) PSA endorsed TC Engine Performance Jammers- top end high performance bathers- order at the uniform shop (Approx $90). These should last 2 yrs if used for racing only.
Stock sizes available
| Jammers size 3xs (Est Yr 7) | 5 pairs |
| Jammers size 2xs (Yr 7) | 5 pairs |
| Jammers size xs (Yr 7/8) | 5 pairs |
| jammers size s (Yr 8) | 5 pairs |
| jammers size med (Yr 8/9) | 5 pairs |
| jammers size large (Yr 9/10/11) | 5 pairs |
| Jammers size xl (Yr 11/12) | 5 pairs |
| Jammers size 2xl (Yr 11/12) | pairs |
2nd) PSA endorsed TC Dolphin Jammers- well priced durable, high quality racing bathers-purchase at uniform shop (approx. $55).
Distant 3rd) FINS jammers- ill-fitting, heavy shorts, suitable for PE and recreational swimming only.
- We are still in negotiations to swim in another meet before Inters, possibly on Tuesday March 2nd against Penrhos (stay tuned).
- Finally, let’s start focusing on the process of swimming fast. I loved the emphasis on kick and finishes during PCG and Age Champs. Keep it up.
I look forward to an excellent Quads & beyond.

Swimming Breakfast online payment Term 1 2021
Unfortunately, the volunteers can’t take cash as there are no facilities to record the payment.
Breakfast cost is $54 for the Term 1 Swimming Season, that’s $4.50 for 12 swimming sessions.
Bacon & egg burger, hash browns, and a drink – that’s great value we think!
Please click on the online store below to pay for your son’s breakfast.

Swimming training is back on!
In response to Premier Mark McGowan’s announcement last night that the hard lockdown in the Perth, Peel and South West regions will be lifted at 6.00pm, Friday 5 February, WA schools will open Monday. However, some restrictions will continue to apply until at least 12:01am 14 February.
The most important aspect of the continuing restrictions will be a requirement for all staff members and students in Years 7 to 12 to wear a mask to, from and at school. Face masks are not required while swimming. Spectators and coaches are required to wear a mask, physically distance, and follow good hygiene practices.
This is very positive news and means the TC Swimming Squad can get back to training and prepare ourselves for the 2021 swimming season. In all cases please follow COVID safe practices, wear a mask to and from training and keep social distancing where appropriate.
Monday 8th February years 8 – 12 commence swimming training. Year 7’s and new students to Trinity College don’t need to train as this will be your first day at school.
Wednesday 10th February years 7 – 12 full squad training and breakfast to start for term 1.
Sunday 7th February – There will be a special race skills session at 2pm at the Curtis Aquatics Centre (Trinity Pool).
Regular training days and times;
Monday: 6:15 – 8:00am
Wednesday: 6:15 – 8:00am
Friday: 6:15 – 8:00am
