Perth College COVID Directives

Due to some new directives related to School events and Covid, I want to give you an update of some changes we now need to make to the Perth College v Trinity College Meet on Tuesday:
• No parents will be allowed on school grounds – Trinity College will bus students to Perth College? There will be no parents allowed on campus for pick up. Please remain in your vehicles and we will release the boys at 6pm.
• Unfortunately we are no longer allowed to have a sausage sizzle due to strict regulations around food handling – apologies for this! PC are looking into perhaps still providing a drink or packaged snack.
• Due to close proximity, we require the boys to maintain social distancing protocols and staff and students to wear masks whilst not swimming.
• Perth College will spread the students out as much as possible – Perth College upstairs, Trinity College downstairs and will try to manage numbers in the marshalling area.

We are adapting to the changing nature of requirements and health directives. Perth College and Trinity College are working hard to still provide students with the best opportunities during these uncertain times, we appreciate all your support and patience.

If you haven’t already done so, could I please ask that all swimmers complete the sign-up for this event so that we can give Perth College firm numbers by tomorrow morning.

Time: 4.00pm arrive 4.30pm start 6.00pm finish
Venue: Perth College Pool
Duration: Typically a 90 minute swim meet

Transport has been organised from Trinity College to Perth College
Time: 3:15pm
Date: 8th February
Where: Nelson Crescent to Perth College.

Please note: there is no return bus, students will need to be picked up from Perth College at 6pm after the swim meet. Due to Covid restrictions, we ask all parents to wait outside Perth College, students will be released at 6pm.

Swimming Breakfast online payment Term 1 2022

Unfortunately, the volunteers can’t take cash for swimming breakfast so we are asking parents to pay through the online store.

Breakfast cost is $75 for the Term 1 Swimming Season, that’s $5.00 for 15 swimming sessions or you can pay $5.00 per swim.
Bacon & egg burger, hash browns, and a drink – that’s great value we think!

TC vs Wesley Swim Meet

A few parents have inquired about the first swim meet against Wesley.

The TC vs Wesley meet is Saturday 5th February at Trinity College.

Please be at the pool at 2.15pm. The Warm-up will commence at 2:30pm sharp and racing will start at 3:00pm.
Traditionally, this meet takes about 90 minutes but will depend on numbers.

All swimmers Yr 7-12 are expected to attend, except by prior arrangement.

Term 1 Swim Breakfast Volunteers

Welcome back to the 2022 swim season and Term 1 Breakfast.  

Breakfast is served on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings.  Without your help,  breakfast can not be served.  So Please sign up.  Your sons will be very grateful….

All swimming parents from year 7 – 12 are welcome. Its a great way to be part of the TC community and get to know other swimming parents

Swim Camp ‘Clinic’ Reminder!

A quick reminder that the Swim Camp ‘Clinic’ is this Saturday 15th January 2022.

The clinic will build on the boys’ skills and more importantly build the team spirit within TC Swimming. We invite the boys who will be in years 7 through to 12 in 2022 to attend a one day session at the school.

Drop Off – Saturday 15th January, boys are to arrive at school by 10:00 AM

Cost – $0 and lunch will be provided by the school, boys are to bring their own snacks.

Clothing / Equipment

Training equipment (only if the boys have them already, do not purchase anything just for the swim camp)
– Goggles
– Fins
– Front Snorkel (if you already have one)
– Bathers
– Shorts & T-shirts (appropriate for land based training i.e running, exercise)
– Sunscreen
– 2 – 3 towels
– Water bottle

Pick Up – Saturday 15th January, boys are to be collected at 3.00 PM

Dion Mepham – Head Swim Coach

Welcome back to 2022 or welcome to TC.

It was great to see over 40 boys attend the first training session of the new year. It was an excellent way to welcome our new Year 7 boys to the TC team.

I know it’s not our usual time slot, but we were blown away by the enthusiasm. Training will still be at 4.00pm on Wednesday & Friday this week, before reverting to 6.20am again for next week and beyond.

We have a number of events coming up quickly on the calendar. Keep your eyes open.

1. Saturday Jan 8^th– New  Year Time Trial (Warm up 4.00pm Finish approx. 6.30pm), kindly hosted by Western Sprint.

All TC swimmers are invited to attend, but we’d really love to have the new Year 7 boys join us for a swim & a bit of a holiday social gathering afterwards, with pizzas & drink available ($8 payable on the day).

Last thought- Adam, Sam, Mr Gage & I would love to see the TC team break attendance records while the weather is warm and the days are ‘lazy’. The largest holiday attendance we’ve ever had is 63 swimmers. I’m sure you can rally your mates and start hitting the water in earnest.

As a result of popular demand, TC Swimming will be conducting a one-day Swimming Clinic. The one-day clinic will build on the boys’ skills and more importantly, build the team spirit within TC Swimming. Swimming Program

The clinic will involve skills sessions in the pool, stroke improvement sessions, land-based activities and team building activities. The aim of the Swimming Clinic is that the boys will have the opportunity to meet each other and focus on working together as a team. The program is subject to weather or other circumstances.
