Lost Property!

Ben Maine (8.7) misplaced a brand new pair of black lace up Ascent school shoes and Leonardo Tanner (8.7) misplaced his size 14 sports shorts at the Perth College Valentine swim meet. Could we please remind parents to check that their son’s uniforms are clearly labelled with the lead up the Quads and Inters swim meets.

If you find that your son has mistakenly picked up another student’s uniform, it can be returned to Student Services.

Important Announcement – Inters 2022 has been brought forward!

At a meeting of the PSA headmasters last night, Inters 2022 has been brought forward in an effort to minimize COVID impacts on school events.

More details will follow.

Here’s what we know-

Quads will go ahead on Feb 24th as planned (without anyone involved in Head of the River on Sat 26th)

Penrhos meet scheduled for March 3rd  will now be cancelled.

Inters will follow the normal timetable, but obviously, now on a different day, March 1st 2022.

Here’s how it’s going to affect us internally (as a TC team);

  1. Quads- I will select a Quads team and post it this evening. It WILL include all swimmers as per our best team. This means it will have rowing boys selected & named in the team. These boys are NOT expected to attend and may continue their HoR preparations uninterrupted. However, if Rowing boys wish to swim at Quads, they should clear it with Rowing Coaches and will be welcome to attend the swimming. We are expecting to swim some boys in 2 relays at Quads to fill gaps left by Rowers & other 1st team members.
  2. Inters Meet- I will also select a PRELIMINARY INTERS TEAM and post it today. This will be based on all competitions up to & including AGE CHAMPS. It should be a fairly stable team, but pleased be warned that ANY pb swims achieved at Swimming WA meets and Quads WILL replace current pbs and have an impact on selection for Inters. So don’t be surprised if your INTERS events change between today and Feb 27th, when the FINAL INTERS TEAM will be announced. Needless to say, I think this will give families the best chance of re-arranging schedules to fit this change in.
  3. Inters Training and on the day- There are now 4 training sessions left and each minute of those will count. Mon-Wed-Fri next week (even after Quads) and Mon Feb 28th. Please be prepared to attend all of these sessions. Details of the pre-Inters lunch etc will be ironed out in the next few days, but be prepared for a change in routine.
  4. POST-INTERS- as a result of a premature end to the season, there will be many boys who wish to continue on and swim. I will be proposing that you all nominate for the School Sport WA State Swimming Team (free). Trials are expected in April (pending restrictions) and the best swimmers will be chosen on the WA team. Even if you don’t get selected, the trials are still something for us to train towards.

Nominations -13-19yrs https://www.schoolsportwa.com.au/swimming-13-19-years/#

Nominations-10-12yrs nominations https://www.schoolsportwa.com.au/interstate/swimming-10-12-years/

Let’s stay strong and use the chaos to our advantage! We are the best prepared team. We have had double and sometimes triple the competitive opportunities this season. We are race ready and battle hardened.

Perth College Swim Meet Results

The coaches were proud of the mature way the Trinity College swim team presented themselves at the Perth College “Valentines Swim Meet” last night. Many swam personal bests and a few young men even mustered up enough courage to have brief conversations with the young Perth College ladies.

Finally, could we ask that if you attended the Perth College meet, please check your sport short labels as someone has picked up Leonardo Tanner’s size 14 shorts. These can be returned to Mr Gage in A114 or returned to Leonardo at swim training.
