2022 Wrap up & Top 100

MERRY CHRISTMAS BOYS!

We have been very impressed with your commitment in Term 4 2022. Here is the first Top 100 of the new season (in 2023year groups).

There are a couple points that I want to emphasise before we go on break:

  1. There is no TC Swim Team training now until Jan 2nd, 2023. However, I would love to have as many TC boys as possible join us on a Mon/Fri morning at Western Sprint. Please text me (Mr Mepham on 0411 166 538) to arrange some December training.
  2. Thanks to those boys who joined us at the PC meet. Numbers were low (18 TC boys and 50 PC girls), but at least some boys were happy with that ratio. Unfortunately, it does show a little disrespect to our programme. We work hard (on our own time) to provide opportunities for you to gain valuable competition experience. We also believe that you are intuitive enough to realise that if our events are poorly attended, we won’t put them on the calendar. However, on the upside, there were some great PB’s swum and those who made the effort to attend were rewarded.
  3. I would like to thank Mr Adam Gage, as he leaves us, for all of his efforts over the last 8 years. He has been the major influence on our success as a team, by completely reforming the organisation of the team. Most families who have been a part of our team will be aware that we are organized, communicate well and try to create a safe, positive environment for boys to thrive. Adam has been the driving force behind this, fielding requests, updating websites, organizing & attending competitions, compiling photographic records and (at times) calming coaches. We will all miss Adam and wish him the best in his new role moving forward. On the flipside, we welcome Miss Adelaide Garland to the team. Adelaide brings a great swimming knowledge and an excellent rapport with the boys. Welcome to the Swim Team Adelaide.
  4. Can we please make a concerted effort to re-join training early in January. It is a great time to be training. Adam Koprowski is well enough to be back on deck and we are looking to push forward at full capacity towards 2023 Inters on March 9th. Don’t forget ‘Swim Camp’ on Sunday Jan 15th.
  5. In 2022 our total Inters swim time was 92min 34 sec on Inters night (3rd fastest in TC history). Our best ever effort is 91min 26sec (2007), then 92min 07sec (2021). I would love for us to band together and create a new TC record in 2023, that we can all share. The leadership team (Harry, Matt & Madoc) believes that we can crack 91 min in 2023. Please get behind us. That’s 0.65sec improvement per swimmer per race.

Wishing you all a Merry and safe Christmas!

Mr Mepham

2023 Swim Calendar

The official Trinity Swim Team Calendar for 2023 is now available.

Please note that there may be minor changes which will be communicated to the boys at training.

There are lots of exciting swim events and swim meets coming up to prepare swimmers for the Inters on the 9th of March.

As part of the swim team, it is an expectation that boys show up to ALL training sessions and swim meets.

Please let your coaches know if you are unavailable for an event well in advance.

See you all at the pool!

Introducing the 2022/23 Leadership Team

We are proud to introduce; Harrison Farmer as the TC swim captain for 2023

Matthew Maine and Madoc Lanfear Appleby as the assistant swim captains.

These boys make up the leadership team for the 2022/23 swimming season and will work hard to continue the culture of personal bests within the team, where every member of the squad is encouraged and pushed to train and compete, at their highest level, giving their best, showing true TC-Spirit, swimming as one force to lead the green and blue to victory!

Reminder-Please make sure you sign up for Friday’s meet.

TC v PC

We are looking forward to hosting Perth College on Friday. We normally have a great time. It’s a fun meet. No pressure, no expectation, just come down, race & have a good time. It is a perfect re-introduction for those boys who are just getting back into swimming after a long layoff.

We know it’s difficult to commit to a swim meet after PSA on a Friday and we know it’s not a lot of fun for seniors to come back now that exams are over, but we would really appreciate you making the effort because you know it will be worth it.

Remember- there’s only 15 weeks until Inters & whilst it seems like an eternity away, it WILL come around very quickly.

So please sign up today.

Year 7, 8 and 9 parent volunteers needed!

we-need-you

The TC Swim Team desperately needs more volunteers for breakfast preparation. The breakfast can’t happen without you!

Breakfast;

Training Day/Times:
Monday 6:30 – 7:30am
Friday 6:30 – 7:30am

We would love to see some fresh faces in the kitchen, especially from year 7, 8, 9 and 10 school parents. It’s a wonderful way to meet fellow Swim Team parents and to build that TC community spirit. If you have thought of volunteering but haven’t put your name down yet, please click on the link below to sign up. We need your help!

Dads and Mums from Year 7-12 students are very welcome.  We are a friendly community and appreciate any help you can offer.
