After smashing expectations with 30+ for the first meet, we now want to consolidate and bring a larger number to this meet. Everyone who swam last meet was surprised by how many race mistakes they made. We all know this is normal, but the earlier you start with the racing process, the more time you have to iron out the kinks.

TC won the last meet 77-34 and Aquinas are looking for revenge. I look forward to TC improving on the first effort and many pbs being set.

Important Clarifications

Hi everyone. Looking forward to the swim meet today. Great to see 30 plus already signed up. I have answers to a number of questions I’ve been asked.

  1. Is the swimming on Monday (pupil free day). Answer- Yes, but no breakfast. Obviously many will want to sleep in and stay away from school, but for those who want to keep a regime, we will be there.
  2. I can’t get the app or get onto the app for the swim meet. Can I just turn up to today’s meet? Answer- Yes, we will run a demo and Q&A at 1.45. At that time you can enter the meet via the app. You can still download the app between now and race time & enter too.
  3. I want to volunteer to time-keep etc, how do I do that? Answer- on the app, you will see ‘meets’. On that front page you’ll see ‘volunteer’ inside you’ll be able to sign up for the job. Timekeeping is dead simple, the app will start each race on your own phone. You just tap STOP and SAVE and everything is done for you. No more postits or writing names & times. No more waiting for meet results etc.
  4. Can’t make it today. Can my son still swim. Answer- Yes. I will need to add him under my account (i.e I will be his ‘parent’ for today). I will willingly relinquish claim to him once you have app access. However I will need to enter his DOB for age based results & I’ll assume your permission is implied at that point. You can claim his profile yourself via the app, when you have it.
  5. We can’t make today’s meet. When is the next one? Answer- the next meet is due for Week 4, with a TBC girls school.

Awesome. Have a great weekend.

Let’s see huge numbers at the meet.

Term 4 Training has started with a BANG!

Congratulations boys. It never ceases to amaze me when I see so many swimmers turn up to the TC pool. To have nearly 30 boys attend this morning’s training, absolutely blew the coaches away. Considering that this time last year, we were heading out to Belmont, I couldn’t be happier.

Now, imagine how many team members we can get to training when breakfast starts on Friday. Hot, delicious, TC swim breakfast that make getting out of bed so worth it!!

On that note, the sign up details for breakfast will be shared later this week, but I really want to focus on something more important, the people behind the breakfast tradition.

Every week, a team of dedicated parents volunteer their time to plan, order, prepare, and serve breakfast for the swimmers. Many of these mums and dads have been doing it for over a decade, supporting their older kids and now their younger ones as they move through the swim team.

The reality is that several of our most experienced parent volunteers will finish their time at Trinity after the Term 1, 2026 season. That means it will soon fall to the parents of Grad Year 2027 and beyond to carry this much-loved tradition forward.

The breakfast tradition isn’t just about food, it’s a huge part of what drives our success. When breakfast is on, attendance skyrockets, and with more boys in the water, our coaches can focus on what they do best, improving race performance.

This term, we especially need new parent volunteers to step up and help with breakfast duty. It’s a simple but meaningful way to support the team and keep one of Trinity’s great and clearly most beloved swim traditions alive. Experience banked between now and March will really help Rondelle and her team feel comfortable with the succession to new custodians.

As for the business in the pool, we’ve already set a Day 1 Term 4 record, let’s build on that, on Friday.

Welcome to the 2026 season. Time to get building.

🌊 Pre-Season Swim Team Training T3 2025

Want to get that swimming body back? Here’s your chance to get off to a flying start to the 2026 season.

Remember the struggle of jumping into the pool at the start of summer after months off. This is your chance to change the script. 🏊‍♂️ Join Coach Dane for an invigorating four weeks of pre-season training that will have you conquering the water like never before, once you have finished all Athletics commitments.

Winter sports have wound down, so it is the perfect time to get back in the pool for some stress-free fitness work. Do not let summer catch you unprepared. 🏋️‍♀️ Build early-season fitness and sharpen your skills so you hit Term 4 with confidence.

There will be no breakfast until Term 4, although we expect the mums will keep track of those who turn up in T3 and reward the faithful.

🗓️ Key Details

When: Term 3, Weeks 7 to 10
Days: Mondays and Fridays
Time: 6:15 AM to 7:30 AM
Start date: Monday, 1 September 2025
Finish date: Friday, 26 September 2025

This is not designed for those who’ve swum all winter (WSS etc), just those who want a steady re-introduction and fitness build

🏁 Early Season Target

The first event of the season is expected to be a Perth College/St Mary’s/Aquinas meet in Week 4, Term 4 (to be confirmed). Term 4 begins Monday, 13 October 2025, so Week 4 lands in early November. You will want to have some guns showing by then.

The Power of Persistence

Wow! What a season! The 2025 PSA Inters was an absolute triumph — a night packed with grit, determination, and some truly unforgettable moments (like Remy & Byron’s warm up). This year, Trinity swimmers rose to the challenge and delivered in spectacular style.

Fastest Team in Trinity History!

Yes, you read that right — for the 3rd year in a row, this year’s squad is officially the fastest Trinity team ever assembled! With a stunning new school record of 87 minutes and 44.55 seconds, our boys took things to another level. Breaking our previous (2024) record by nearly 10 seconds was no small feat, and it’s a huge credit to the relentless determination and hard work shown by every swimmer in the squad. Absolutely outstanding!

Trinity Back in 4th Place!

After a tough campaign in 2024, we proudly reclaimed 4th place this year — a massive achievement and proof that perseverance pays off. You all fought hard in every race, and it was incredible to see their dedication translate into such a fantastic result.

Breaking Trinity Records and Rising Stars!

This year, two incredible Year 7 swimmers stole the show by breaking TC alltime records:

  • Lawson Duffield powered through to break the 50m Freestyle record with a swim that had everyone buzzing. Speed, skill, and nerves of steel — what a swim! This swim absolutely set the tone for the night.
  • Then Max Bailey came along & took the 50m Backstroke and 50m Butterfly records (which Lawson also beat), etching his name in Trinity’s history books. His incredible technique and fearless racing had the crowd on their feet.

These boys didn’t just break records — they set the pool on fire with their talent, and we can’t wait to see what they achieve next.

Our Event Winners — Outstanding Performances!

We had a raft of sensational performances across multiple year groups, showing that Trinity’s talent runs deep:

  • Year 7:
    • Lawson Duffield – Div 1 50m Freestyle.
    • Max Bailey – Div 2 50m Freestyle, 50m Backstroke, & 50m Butterfly .
    • Josh Lim – Div 2 50m Breaststroke.
    • Div 1 4x50m Medley Relay TeamMax, Josh, Lawson, and Harry Spencer.
  • Year 8:
    • Jonty Booth – Div 1 50m Freestyle & Backstroke.
  • Year 9:
    • Sam Lawrence – Div 2 50m Freestyle & Butterfly.
    • Chase Pitt – Div 1 50m Butterfly.

Every one of these swimmers stepped up when it mattered most — well done, legends!

However, it was 2 swims in particular that got me fired up, Zavier Leone (Yr 10) dragging 2 swimmers back to nearly win his team’s freestyle relay in an incredible pb leg and Jasper Swain (Yr 7) cutting a full 5 sec off his pb in a desperate bid to help his team. With this sort of desperation we can be much more than we think we can be.

Leadership That Drove Us Forward

A huge shout-out to our outstanding leadership team. Captain Alex Santoro, along with Vice-Captains Felix Cooper (who sent an inspiring video message in his absence) and Sam Howard, led the way with passion, focus, and unwavering belief in the team. Their influence lifted everyone, and they leave behind a legacy of leadership we can all admire. Many thanks to the Yr 12 boys. Your contribution will be remembered and we will miss you.

Thank You to Our Incredible Supporters

None of this would have been possible without the dedicated team behind the scenes. Huge thanks to our coaching team: Adelaide Garland, Adam Koprowski, Dane Mepham, Milla Howard, Corey Signal, and Indie Mepham— your energy, guidance, and dedication shaped these boys into the swimmers they are today.

To our all of our wonderful parent supporters, represented by Antonio and Megan Santoro, Rondelle May, Giselle Howard, and Clairly Lance — thank you for your tireless efforts. From breakfast prep to race-day support, your contributions made all the difference.

2026 — Let’s Go Even Bigger!

We’ve set new records, we’ve reclaimed 4th place, and we’ve shown what hard work and belief can achieve. But this is just the beginning. The talent in our squad is undeniable, and we know there’s even more to come.

So here’s the challenge for 2026 — be part of it! Whether you’re a new swimmer or someone returning for another shot, you have a chance to be part of something special. With 91 pb’s on the night we have proven — hard work pays off, and your best is yet to come!

Let’s make 2026 unforgettable. See you on the blocks!

113 Pb’s at Quads last night. How many tonight?

xr:d:DAF9sjSJ6qA:5,j:6418049147735475399,t:24022410

Last night was a whirlwind, but amidst the chaos, 113 new personal bests were set—leaving last year’s 81 in the dust! (Full disclosure- coaches only predicted 45 pb’s, so you showed us up). A huge testament to the hard work, focus, and resilience you all showed in and out of the pool. It wasn’t just about the times—it was about the way you stepped up, supported each other, and embraced the challenge.

Even though there were no official points on the night, the real win was the progress we made as a squad. Meets like this remind us that things don’t always go perfectly—misplaced goggles, tricky finishes, and relay hiccups happen—but what matters is that we’re coming out fitter, faster, and more prepared for Inters. Improvement is the name of the game, and we saw it in abundance.

Top 100 after Quads, official results, and relay splits are now up! PBs are highlighted in yellow—take a look, because so many of you made massive gains!

With just over two weeks until Inters, now’s the time to double down. We need full squad support at the Penrhos meet tonight and our final selection meet against Iona next Friday.

⚠️ Critical call for Year 11s—we’re still 5-8 swimmers short in that age group, which puts our team’s spot at risk. Every swimmer counts, and as much as individual talent shines, the strength of the team depends on everyone showing up.

Let’s finish strong and make sure we’re ready to fire at Inters!

Top 100 after Age Champs!

Positive Signs in a Big Week!

Last week was a tough one, with many of our swimmers juggling Club Pennants, PCG, PSA sport (two trainings and a game!), swim training, and Age Champs. It’s no surprise that Thursday saw some tired bodies in the water. But despite all that, over 25% of our team still smashed out personal bests in the 50m Freestyle! That’s an incredible effort.

This year IMPROVEMENT will be rewarded.

I’ve been diving deeper into performance trends this season, (particularly improvement by year group) and there are some exciting takeaways. We’re seeing some huge collective gains, showing the hard work is paying off.

📊 Year Group Performance Gains (from own 2024 pb):

Year 123.06s improvement from Inters last year (0.19s per swimmer)
🏅 Top Improvers: Sam Howard (-2.46s), Archie Jarvis (-1.8s)

Year 11 – A slight challenge with 4.67s dis-improvement (-0.42s pp), but still some strong individual efforts.
🏅 Top Improvers: Hudson May (-0.4s), Kai Collins (-0.2s)

Year 10 – A massive 26.47s improvement (1.09s pp)
🏅 Top Improvers: James Ho (-5.28s), Sam Keys (-3.38s), Matt Hodge (-2.73s), Stefan Veselinovic (-2.4s)

Year 9 – A fantastic 42.66s improvement (1.14s pp)
🏅 Top Improvers: Elliot Flaherty (-1.84s), Ben Howard (-1.83s)

Year 8 – An outstanding 29.05s improvement (1.45s pp)
🏅 Top Improvers: Alex Perry (-7.33s), Rhys Mathieson (-4.05s), Sam Blascetta (-3.45s), Caelan Evans (-3.24s)

These stats help us pinpoint where we’re making the biggest strides and where we can refine our focus. Keep an eye out for more insights as we continue to build towards our best!

Now, good luck this afternoon vs PC

After a rocky start, we put in some top-tier work this morning at training, so let’s carry that energy into our races. Go out and make it count!

Final Word for 2024- some urgent clarification notes.

There seems to be a bit of confusion regarding tomorrow. Hopefully the notes below will outline our current situation.

2024 Training– No training this week. Due to Belmont closing, & Trinity is not being open there will be no more TC training in 2024.

2025 training– First session January 6th, 6.30am at TC.

TC grand opening celebration– CANCELLED Tuesday 26th November due to pool not yet being open.

Alternative training– Western Sprint is still hosting training, Monday pm, Wednesday pm & Saturday morning at Perth College until TC opens. All are welcome, but you must become a member of Western Sprint to satisfy Perth College’s insurance requirements.

Swim meet last Saturday– as always there were some great pb’s swum last Saturday. I was particularly impressed with our behaviour and manners. Many thanks to Alex S and Felix C for their leadership and support to the younger boys. Great job. So far in the 3 meets, we have achieved over 80 pbs.

Merry Christmas and I can’t wait to see you all at TC January 6th.
